Rare and beautiful English Art Deco sterling silver and solid gold compact with original burgundy leather and silk lined carrying case.Circa 1947.A beautiful ribbed design in sterling silver with 14K gold clasp, it has a sterling silver powder tray with a sprung handle.It bears hallmarks for London 1947 with the maker’s mark DS&S, along with the 14IK gold stamp and Made in England.The overall condition is excellent, showing only slight age, as does the beautifully made, stitched, padded and lined carrying case.This is a stunning, rare and excellent piece, in excellent condition.
