Rare pair of Japanese Art Deco/Machine Age aluminum and bakelite table lamps.  Circa 1939.  These fabulous lamps have bases that resemble typical traditional Japanese architectural forms, but they are reinterpreted for the Machine Age.  They  have wonderful bakelite fittings in chrome cups, and although they show some age wear, their condition is good overall.  They are each signed with a crest ‘K.K. Yoshida Seisakusho’ on one side of their bases, and ‘CPO’ in a diamond on the other.  They have been fully rewired, and the shades are new.  These are two of the most unusual and stylish Machine Age lamps that I have seen.  To be sold as a pair.
