English machine age chrome, red plastic, wood and silver plate bellows "spinner" presentation ashtray. This marvelous piece was given as a gift to the Right Honorable George Thomas M.P. Secretary of State for Wales in 1969 (he later became speaker for the English House of Commons), but was designed as the promotional piece for the Teddington Bellows Company originally in the 1940's. The silver plated plaque on the wooden base describes the details of the presentation whilst the main body of the ashtray symbolizes a large chrome plated set of bellows and the whole enchilada is kept with a spinner system ashtray top (when the red plastic knob is depressed it literally spins the ashes to the inside of the tray.) This is a truly unique piece although utilizing an ashtray mechanism which is familiar to deco collectors around the globe. It is fully working and in excellent condition throughout. Overall height 7" on a 6" diameter base.
