Rare Japanese art deco chrome, black bakelite and black enamel smoking stand circa 1936. This beautifully designed stand combines a "spinner" ashtray with a small chrome drinks table. Two black enamel steel straps support the ashtray, whilst the chrome incised pole, rising from circular black enamelled black base, holds the table. The black bakelite knop on the ashtray is chipped at the bottom edge, but otherwise this example is in good condition with usual age usage. It is stamped "Japan" in white under the base and so it was obviously made for export. This is a rare one. Height 26", width 12".
