Rare American Art Deco burgundy minked wood, glass and foil ‘The Wheel’ cocktail tray.  Circa 1932.  The Colonial Sales Corp. NYC applied for a patent for this unique tray in 1932.  You just turn a wheel on the top or bottom of the tray frame and the cocktail recipe of your choice comes up in one of four windows on the surface of the tray.  It has great graphics, and  type covering its surface, but despite the original foil label on the back’s claim of a guaranteed waterproof product, there is some slight water damage to the foil under the glass.  There is some paint loss to the burgundy minked finish, but this is still in the best condition that I have seen in this very rare piece.  18” long by 11” high.
