English machine-age chrome and black shipboard cocktail tray circa 1930. The tray itself is black painted metal with two raised tubular handles at each end that are capped with black painted incised fineals. Running the length of the tray are two thin chrome plated rods. Obviously put there to prevent spillage through sliding ( these English think of everything! No wonder Britannia used to rule the waves.) Condition overall very good with some minor dings to the chrome. Amazingly enough this beautifully constructed tray is made up of seventeen separate pieces of metal. 19" in length 11 1/2" wide with 1" in diameter chrome rod handles.
